Ok, Games Workshop have decided to basically give Australia and New Zealand the finger, raising all their already outrageous prices. For instance, a Space Marene Battleforce used to be $150 AUD, whereas the equivalent cost overseas is 75. They apparently decided they weren't milking us for enough, and raised the price by $30. That's right, they made it 20% costlier.
SO! Because of this, I've decided to buy from overseas. This will mean that overall, I'll be saving on money, so I will be able to purchase more often, but because of the shipping, there'll be a 3-4 weeks delay between me ordering things, and actually receiving them.
My first purchase, which I made today, was a Space Marene Battleforce, containing one tactical squad of Marenes (10 models, led by Doctor Whoof), one combat squad (5 models, which with extra bitz I'll convert to the devastator squad led by Star Sparkle), one scout squad (5 models, led by Cheerilee), one assault squad (5 models, led by Rainbow Dash, need 5 more for the full squad), and a Rhino. So now I just need a Dreadnought for Big Macintosh, a Chapter Master for Princess Celestia, a Land Speeder Storm for Scootaloo's scooter, another assault squad, a Librarian for Twilight Sparkle, and devastator weapons for Star Sparkle's squad.
This is, overall, good news! Does anyone know where I can get some good modelling paints NOT by GW?

Completed army list, may undergo modifications
Ok, so now, every non-vehicle model is named (and one vehicle, Big Macintosh the dreadnought), and I've completed the list.

More Marene ideas, and army list
Ok, so Assault Marenes will be pegasus ponies (seeing as there aren't enough named Wonderbolts yet, and they will be a Vanguard squad), led by a Space Marene Sergeant Rainbow Dash. Also, the scouts will be Scootaloo, Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Twist (I needed at least 4 scouts), led by a scout sergeant Cheerilee.
So, my current army list for 1500 points:
HQ:
Princess Celestia, with a power sword and jump pack (she'll accompany Rainbow Dash!) for 175 points.
Twilight Sparkle, with the powers Avenger and Null Zone, and equipped with a storm bolter, costing 103 points, bringing the total to 278 points.

Introduction to Space Marenes
Ok, so I've lately got into My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and what with me being a fan of Warhammer 40k, and not being a fan of the generic smurf armies, I've decided to make a pony-themed Space Marene army. So far, I get about $60 a week from work, so progress will be slow. BUT! My birthday is tomorrow, so I get a pay rise, so it might be better.
ANYWAY! My current ideas.
Celestia is a Chapter Master, Twilight Sparkle is a Librarian, Scootaloo is scout bikers, Rainbow Dash is bikers and/or assault marenes (or maybe vanguard veterans), Fluttershy is a Chaplain, Land Speeder Storms are going to be painted like Scootaloo's scooter (carrying the scouts, AKA Cutie Mark Crusaders), Big Macintosh is dreadnoughts, and that's all I can think of for now.
